Offshore Keel Boats

Offshore Keel Boats

This season, the program centres around the Christmas/New Year race, including the category 2 Melbourne 2 Launceston Race, held in conjunction with the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria. The Tamar Yacht Club finished the first running of this event, over a century ago, in 1907.
A much more recent event is the Optus Launceston 2 Hobart Race, which this year will hold its fourth edition. This category 3+ event has rapidly become a popular race for Tasmanian offshore yachtsmen (and women).
There are also many opportunities for those whose interest is in assisting with the conduct of racing and training.
