Training

The Tamar Sailing Academy provides sail training for both juniors and adults learning to sail. Our fleets of Optimist, Pacer and Flying 11's sailing dinghies provide learning facilities at various levels from complete beginner to experienced sailors.
 

Junior Training

The Tamar Yacht Club run a Coaching Program during the Sailing Season to aid in the development of our sailors. We run two lots of 8 week sessions, one before and one after Christmas. We have coaching programs for everyone, including beginners, intermediate two handed boats.

Power Boating

The Tamar Yacht Club is a MAST accredited provider of the "BOATSAFE" course, an effective and efficient method of achieving the competencies required to gain a Tasmanian Power Boat Licence test.
 
The Tamar Yacht Club is authorised to issue interim licences on the day. We run courses of a weekend in  Launceston. Course numbers are limited. Payment must accompany this enrolment form to verify your placement in the next available course.

Motor Boat Licence Courses -

The MAST Motor Boat Licence Course is delivered by accredited instructors and includes theory, exam and practical session.

We still have limited spaces available on the following course:

Saturday 16th June from 9:00am - 3:00pm

 

These courses fill up quite quickly so don't be surprised if you can't get in straight away. Please submit Expression of Interest, and Enrolment form to the Office at 7 Park St Launceston. For futher information please read the FAQ page.
