Young sailors from all over Australia will once again experience some of the best sailing conditions in Australia as they compete in the annual New South Wales Youth Championships.
Regularly attracting over 350 competitors, the NSW Youth Championships will be hosted by Georges River Sailing Club, and racing will be on the clear waters of Botany Bay with up to four courses, with entries now open.
Australian Sailing’s NSW Regional Manager, Declan Brennan, said the Championships are always action packed on and off the water.
“With great support from our sponsors and volunteers, our goal is to always give our young competitors and their families the best possible regatta on the shore and on the water,” Brennan said.
“For first timers we really want them and their families to be a part of the action and have a positive experience in competitive sailing. For the more experienced, they will be racing at a level that gives them the best preparation for whatever they choose to do next. ”
The Championships launch on Saturday October 1 and will run through until Monday 3 October.
Georges River Sailing Club is currently preparing for the event with CEO, Christine Bryant keen to provide competitors and their families with the ultimate regatta experience.
“The whole club enjoys hosting the NSW Youth Championships. All the members pitch in to help and are delighted to see young sailors of all ages enjoying themselves with a true competitive spirit.”
Remember, you can all help to make the regatta a success for all; we would really appreciate it if you could volunteer to help out.
