Australian Sailing Announces Youth Worlds Team Coaches

The Australian Sailing Youth Worlds Team is now finalised with Johnny Rodgers, Tristan Brown and Traks Gordon appointed as Coaches.

The Australian Sailing Youth squad of 14 will compete at the Youth Worlds this December in Sanya, China across five classes; 420, RSX, 29er, Laser Radial and Nacra 15.

Johnny Rodgers will Coach the 420 and RSX athletes and head up the coaching team as Team Leader.  The 420 squad includes Otto Henry (NSW) & Rome Featherstone (WA) and Laura Harding (VIC) & Eleanor Grimshaw (VIC); while the RSX representatives are Alex Halank (NSW) and Hailey Lea (QLD).

Coach of the Laser Radial representatives, Caelin Winchcombe (WA) and Elyse Ainsworth (WA) will be Tristan Brown.  Tristan coached the Laser team at the 2016 Youth Worlds in New Zealand, where Finn Alexander won the Youth World Laser Radial Boys title.

Traks Gordon will Coach the 29er teams, Henry Larkings (NSW) & Miles Davey (NSW) and Natasha Bryant (NSW) & Annie Wilmot (NSW); as well as the Nacra 15 sailing duo, Shannon and Jayden Dalton (WA).  Traks coached the 29er Girls Natasha and Annie at the 2016 Youth Worlds where they won the Championship title.

In November and December the Australian Sailing Youth Team will attend a traininig camp held over Sail Melbourne, prior to departing for China.
