The 2017 Interdominion Championships were held at Sandringham Yacht Club, where the best school teams from New Zealand competed against the top Australian school teams.

The Friends Girls, co-captained by Australian Sailing Youth Team member Jasmin Galbraith and Issi DeClerk, took out the finishing 3 wins ahead of closest rival Ascham School with Tasmanian girl team Fahan School Hobart Australia finishing third overall.

The Friends Girls Team, who only started sailing together at the beginning the the year, have now added the Interdominion Championships to their Tasmanian and Australian Championship victories earlier in the year.

The Friends Open Team finished second in the open division, as Wentworth College from New Zealand dominated the field. The Friends Team did however manage to finish ahead of The Scots College by just two wins and get revenge for their semi-final loss to Scots at the 2017 Australian Championships, where Scots went on to win the 'All Scot's Final'.

Thanks to these stellar performances from our Australian teams, Australia took out the Interdominion Trophy for AUS v NZ.

Congratulations to all the teams for not only representing their Country, but representing their State and School at such a high level.
